The first team, the Golden Girls, chose a lesson on biomes. They each created a biome using a shoe box to present at the expo, along with their Trifold board. They were so creative and did a great job presenting their biomes and what they had learned.
The next team, the Camouflage Gems, chose a lesson on camouflage animals of course. They learned about the different types of camouflage that animals use. They had a great interactive board that allowed guests to try to find the animals and match them to the correct type of camouflage described on the board.
Other highlights of our day included exploration with author, Heather Montgomery. She discussed the power of asking questions and how everything can help us learn about science. The teams even got to check out some of her treasures, such as a turtle shell, bones, fossils, and fur.
Both teams were awarded viewers choice awards for technology and research. Students will receive their certificates next week.
